What Is Sláinte?

Sláinte [SLON-cha] is a friendly and welcoming
Gaelic or Celtic Toast,
similar to the English toast, "To Your Health!"

So lift your glass when you're in Historic Dublin and toast your neighbor with a hearty "Sláinte!"

The Architectural Review Board In The Historic District

We're very fortunate in Historic Dublin to have an all-volunteer Architectural Review Board that reviews plans to modify the exterior of all structures and landscaping with the limits of the Historic District (see map at right).

The ARB's role is critical in helping maintain the character and quality of the Historic District and assuring that the Historic District continues to the premiere community asset for the citizens of Dublin.

If you're planning on doing any modifications to the exterior of your building, home, or landscaping, contact the ARB first for information on how to apply for an ARB review.

Then check out the Historic Dublin Design Guidelines.

Modifications include plans to construct, alter, demolish, or change the exterior color of any structure, to erect fences, and to display signs.

The ARB is made up of five Dublin citizens with an interest in the district, and meeting the eligibility requirements of the City Of Dublin. Members serve three-years terms and are appointed by Dublin City Council. Openings on the ARB are advertised when available and all eligible persons are invited to apply.
